Weinstein after the mother of a 19-month-old was charged with child neglect for leaving her sleeping child alone in a car while she shopped for party supplies. According to Mr. Weinstein, leaving a minor child alone in a car in New Jersey, even briefly, can legally constitute child neglect. His office has successfully defended a client by siting mitigating circumstances such as; the age of the child, how long the child was alone, and the danger of the area the child was left in.
